Meet Professor Turo, the AI from the Future.
This Pokemon character, being the professor in Pokemon Violet, was the natural and perfect choice to design a chatbot around for a Pokemon website-themed chatbot. Professors are always willing to help new trainers, provide helpful information, and this one specifically is already an AI!
The Budding Stages
Doing research, I was able to create a visual style guide, wireframes, and do A/B testing for those wireframes of Round One mockups, focusing on color contrast as the big factor. After finding out that Variant B, with the branded violet as the fan favorite, I knew exactly why direction to go in.
Post A/B Test
Thus began the Professor's refinement stages. Tuning up assets, fixing colors, figuring out conversation flows. After those were assessed, it began time for the final prototype to come to fruition.
AI Turo Wants to Chat!
The final variation of Professor Turo's pokemon.com Chatbot was a lot of fun to design. Designing something I'm truly passionate about and can be helpful for people trying to enter the hobby is exactly the kind of scenario I dreamed of being in, and working with AI Turo couldn't have gone any better.
