ProTeen: A Health App For Teens

The Glow-up Planner

ProTeen is a fake health-focused mobile app designed to help teens and young adults (16-25) build better wellness habits. Combining tracking features for aspects such as workout routines and nutritional facts, the app helps users create self-paced "glow-up goals" for that overall health spike they wish to attain.

Design Goals & Strategies

At the beginning, my design partner and I had two different ideas for the health app: they focused on medication tracking, and I focused on food planning. We ended up merging the two, with an emphasis on routine building for meals and exercise, while having tracking and fact-checking features within the app.

User Testing & Feedback

Card sorting activities, competitive analysis, and A/B testing feedback sessions all went into the user research aspect of determining what needed to prioritized. Through various rounds we were able to find what testers consistently did and did not like or enjoy, and from there we were able to get a solid path forward.

The Final Mockup

Taking all the feedback throughout the 10-week process we were given, final designs features high-contrast tracking spots, recipe breakdowns with ingredients, shopping list feature, and cooking instructions. While there was more we wish we could have done past the 10-week deadline, such as expand nutritional education, expand on the fitness aspect, or have more customization, we were very happy with how it turned out and how we were able to always keep the age demographic in mind.
